Holmes knew that Dr. Moriaty had planned to kidnap Mary Watson tonight. His plan was to wait until Mary was kidnapped and then follow the kidnapper to find Dr. Moriaty's hiding place. He hid in the closet near the entrance to the house He could see everything clearly through a hole. Mary came home from a theater performance where she had taken part. As soon as she had changed her clothes, there was a knock on the front door. Mary put her shoes back on and her bathrobe and opened the door.
"Put your hands up and don't make a sound otherwise it will bang!" he ordered kidnappers and forced them back into the house. The other took ropes out of his pocket and tied Mary's hands. "Take the jewelry and the money and disappear again," said Mary. "You'll be quiet in a moment and the kidnapper took something out of the bag. Mary looked at the kidnapper questioningly .He took the ball gag and gagged Mary with it."Yoummppff'll regretmmppff thismmppff!" she moaned energetically. "Haha, did you want to tell us something?" The kidnapper with the gun said with a laugh while the other one tied her feet. Mary muttered something angrily to herself. Shortly afterwards, when the kidnapper was finished tying her up, he took a cloth that was soaked with chloroform and pressed it to Mary's mouth.
A short time later she was unconscious and was carried onto the horse-drawn cart by the kidnappers. Holmes followed the kidnappers inconspicuously. He saw the two kidnappers leaving a house but it didn't look like Dr. Moriaty's hideout. Holmes decided to save Mary. He sneaked into the house and used his lock-picking skills to open the door where Mary was trapped. "Holmesmmppff, whatmmppff aremmppff yoummppff doingmmppff heremmppff?" moaned Mary."Please be quiet, I don't know when the kidnappers will come back and Holmes removed the ball gag from her. "Ah, thank God they're here. The two kidnappers wanted to take me to Dr. Moriaty's hideout tomorrow," said Mary.
"Good to know, so I'm not going to free them yet," said Holmes. "Wait a minute, they've been kidnapping me the whole time "I watched and did nothing," Mary shouted. "Holmes took the ball gag and gagged Mary with it again." Holmesmmppff!" moaned Mary. "I'm sorry, but otherwise it's suspicious if you're no longer gagged," said Holmes. Mary was snorting with anger."Holmes found out where Dr. Moriaty's hiding place was.Mary was finally freed by Holmes and her husband after two days.Watson was really mad at Sherlock and stopped working with him.
And so it appeared that taking down Moriarty and his kidnappers was going to rather easy. The greater challenge would come later when Dr Watson found out that his fiance had been used as the bait.
